Pluto-nium is the bomb

Nuclear is making the news these days. You might be thinking about Iran and its nuke scrap with the Western World.

But no, we're talking the planet Pluto and the protests over its small nuclear power plant. There were only a few dozen this time as opposed to the hundreds that protested the mission to Cassini.

Hmmm...

Is this really the best use of environmental anti-nuke efforts? Is this a critical issue? A little cost benefit analysis seems to point to small risk of local nuclear accident vs. the payoff of the most amazing explorations in our history?

I for one would volunteer to relocate my home under the launch verses having the canceled. Peaceful space exploration of solar is one of most noble undertakings of our time.

A little context, anti-nukers, please.
